Dobsonville Further Education and Training (FET) campus
In this the case the students and lecturers have a good relationship the problem is with the campus manager.
They accused the campus manager, Andrew Dube, of verbally abusing them.
The students and lectures said that Dube had insulted them by remarking that :

- some of you are smelly,
- You look like you have not had a bath,
- You smell of alcohol and dress like hoboes”.
- their classrooms “are filthy,
- the toilets are disgusting,
- while the campus is dirty”.
Teaching and learning have been disrupted at the Dobsonville Further Education and Training (FET) campus, prompting angry students to call for intervention by education authorities. Students start the strike and as the strike entered its third day on Wednesday, some of the frustrated students resorted to drinking alcohol inside the campus premises. The college was plunged into chaos on Monday after lecturers and administrative staff members embarked on a wildcat strike.
I believe that the campus manager needs to change his behaviour or get fired.As a Campus manager you communicate a very important massage from the leadership of the university or college.You are not suppose to be assaulting others but helping them and guiding them.The manager was suppose to sit and do environmental scanning and come up with possible solution to help with the problem, not assault lecturers and students.As a student\Lecturer what would you do if you where insulted by Campus manager or someone of a higher position in the university.

FET Colleges are for students who can't afford to go to fancy universities but the treatment students get from these people or staff is totally out control. Dobsonville FET College lack so many things especially the management issues, the management needs to do something about this condensation. I swear to God if something like this could happen to me, where the lecture or any aurhority insults me, I would make sure that I expose them and make sure that they pay because its a humialiation that is so brutal and disgusting

he doesnt have a right to tell the students that they are smelly and looked like they havnt bath in a direct way... he was supose to find a way of telling this students in a way that they wont feel insulted or offended...

I also agree that both the students and the manager were wrong because alcohol always causes trouble. The manager should see to it that he builds good relationships with those students, they should work together to avoid certain issues. Students should have a place were they chill and drink, not in public like that, the manager should also try not to assault those students like that, because it is not part of his job to tell people that they are smelly!

DeleteI honestly think that the lectures from the FET college what they doing is wrong by insulting students by calling them names and all the ill-treatment they get from the lectures it would be wise for students to report this issue to the head of education showing that this is the treatment they get from colleges,as a parent how would you feel about the treatment your child get from school it is rely a critical issue.

DeleteI also believe that respect for lecturers and students is very important and I believe that no one deserves to be assulted more especially by some one who is supposed to be setting an example.If I was assulted I would report him.
